FAQs
THOSE FEW BURNING QUESTIONS....
How can I adopt a Paperhorn & Co?
There are a few ways to adopt. You can currently adopt them as follows:
* Timed Releases: I make a batch of wild ones (ready made paperhorns / dragos etc available for adoption) which I will reveal in advance, and give notice of the date and time for release.
* Surprise Facebook Group Releases: Within my facebook Group (Search ‘Paperhorn Playground’ on FB) I will often pop in with some wild ones at random intervals on random days for the first come first served.
* Limited number of commission slots: I know that the timed and surprise releases always go fast, so I try to keep it fair by having a limited number of slots available with a 4-5 week lead time on commissions. These can be booked by contacting me directly via messenger or email.
* Monthly Subscription: The Paperhorns, Dragos and Jacks have a subscription. Each month subscribers get a subscriber only edition which cannot be commissioned at a later date so it remains exclusive. These are not revealed in advance, so they are a total surprise when they arrive home in the last week of every month.
* Ebay One of a Kind: Every so often special OOAKS will appear on ebay for people to bid on.
Do you make them for special occasions, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays etc?
I absolutely do! I LOVE being part of your special day, as do these guys and they make wonderful keepsakes that you can keep with you forever. These can be arranged and quoted for individually by contacting me directly either on one of my social media platforms, or by emailing me.
What are they made of?
Each one is handmade with love out of polymer clay. I use various different brands, and custom blend colours to make each one individual. I will often embellish them using hand painted details, or various different pigments and glitter.
Are there different sizes?
There sure are! This collage should help you get an idea of the sizing. The majority are made in the original size, but a few of the smaller ones crop up berry so often!
How do I know I am buying an original Canea Chrysalis creation?
Since the 1st February 2017, all of my little creatures regardless of whether they are wild ones or commissions, have been supplied with a serial number and certificate of authenticity from me. They also have my makers stamp imprinted somewhere on their person. When buying directly from me, rest assured they are 100% authentic. I have unfortunately had some people try to sell fakes online trying to say they are Paperhorns so if there is ever any doubt, please do not hesitate to contact me before buying anything that is not directly from me. I will always deal with counterfeiters if I have been made aware of them, because I don’t want any of my lovely customers getting conned into a fake!
What information do you need to make my commission?
When you want to place a commission, firstly you need to let me know which one of my main range creatures you want to bring home! Once we’ve established that, we discuss any finer details.. is it for a special occasion or needed by a certain date? Do you want a specific item / colours or style? Have you seen something I’ve previously made that you’d like your own similar? Once all of those details are discussed, and payments made that’s it! You’re in the order book and your new little dude will be brought to life real soon! You can choose to name your own commission too if you’d like! Just let me know while we are discussing it!
Are they safe for children?
They are not recommended for small children. They are not toys, and are for display only. They are delicate if roughly handled, and small parts could break off - which they don’t much like happening!! They like to hang out on display to watch the world go by with their friends.
Can I create a mould or cast, or create similar to your designs?
No, I own the original copyright to all my designs. They cannot be reproduced for any purpose with the intent of reselling. Any copyright infringement will be addressed accordingly. All my designs come straight from my heart. I put in a lot of time, effort, trial and error to ensure each baby is a perfect original for you. I do not allow them to be reproduced, or copied in any way by anyone else.
Help!! There’s been an accident!!! What can I do??
Contact me!! Send me photos of the breakage and I can advise you if with a little bit of TLC or a stay in Paperhorn HQ A&E we can get them looking themselves again!
Can I send you something for my commission to hold?
Sure you can! Let me know in our discussion and send a photo. Bare in mind, most original size figures are approximately 4cm tall so it would need to be small and light enough for them to carry. If it is heatproof, then I can often attach it before they are baked, but if not, I can often attach it after.
Do you post internationally? Also how are they posted and can you hold items and post together?
I absolutely post internationally! There are paperhorns living as far as Australia! Each buyer is responsible for their own customs charges if they occur.
They are posted via Royal Mail. UK orders are all sent first class signed for, and International orders are sent tracked and signed.
I am happy to hold your box for a certain period of time, so you can add more then one to it before posting! They are social creatures so they love to travel together because they can have a little gossip on their way home!
Do you have a limitation of colours?
I don’t! I often custom blend colours to achieve different colours so as long as the colour physically exists, I should be able to make one similar in clay!
Do you do gift vouchers or gift wrapping?
I sure do! Gift Vouchers are available in denominations of £10 / £20 or £50 and can be used for full or part payment of a commission, but no change can be given.
Gift wrapping can be arranged for a small fee of £2.50.
When will my item be shipped?
All ready to post items will be shipped within one business week from point of order.
